How to Decide which Utensils to Store in Your Drawers
Use the 80/20 rule
You will end up using 20% of your items 80% of the time
Store the 20% in the drawers closest to your stove and prep areas
Group like with like within the drawers
Organize the Space Within the Drawers with Containers and Baskets
Re-use cans, boxes, and caddies that you already have
Place your most used items toward the front of the drawer
Consider color coordinating bins and caddies
Turning a Junk Drawer into a Treasure Drawer
Empty your drawer and clean out any dust or debris
Gather your items
Paper and Pens
Tape
Scissors
Tools like a screwdriver and utility knife
Extras like a flashlight, rubber bands, batteries, and binder clips
Find bins, containers, and caddies for each grouping of items
The goal is to give each item a home and a place where it is visible as soon as you open the drawer
