How many people will each meal feed?
That depends on the recipe. In our chefate shop, each meal has varying serving size options. Choose your desired number of servings for each meal, then our chefpros will convert the recipe to your desired size and shop accordingly. Please keep in mind that if you request a smaller batch size some of the ingredients will still need to be purchased in a standard size which will result in additional leftover ingredients.
Can I get a refund?
You can request refunds on the same day as the services rendered for ingredients that are 1) expired, 2) damaged, or 3) pose a food safety or health risk. Please store your ingredients appropriately and cook meat and fish to proper internal temperatures. chefate is not responsible for food spoilage from mishandling.
How do you clean shopping bags in between shops?
All produce bags are machine washed in cold water and tumble dried on high heat to kill germs. Canvas grocery bags are sprayed with a diluted bleach solution to sanitize. Bags are stored in a sanitized container after being cleaned and before using for a shop.
What if I don’t like some of the ingredients in the recipe?
No worries! Let us know in the “Additional Notes” section that your DO NOT want mushrooms or broccoli or whatever the ingredient may be. We also have recommended substitutions at the bottom of each cookbook recipe so you may see something you’d like to swap out. Personalize your meals to fit your family’s food preferences.
How much gratuity should I give?
We recommend 15%, but its really up to you! Any amount is not too much or too little.
How much will I be spending on groceries?
There are many factors that lead to your total grocery cost. What is your preferred store? Are you requesting specific name brands? How many meals are you planning with chefate? Is your kitchen fully stocked with pantry staples?
However we costed each of our recipes using average ingredient costs. For each recipe you choose, click into the chefate cookbook and see an estimated cost per recipe.

Can I cancel a shop or postpone it for a later time?
You may elect to cancel services up to 24 hours before the scheduled delivery time at no charge to you. A full refund of your original order will be provided. If you cancel services within 24 hours and 2 hours before the scheduled delivery, 50% of your original charge will be refunded. If you cancel services less than 2 hours before the scheduled delivery, there will be no refund of the original charge. If you would like to postpone your shop, please notify your chefpro at least two hours in advance of the scheduled delivery time. Postponing your shop will not affect your original charge or remaining balance charge.
