  1. What kind of protein do I want to eat?

  2. Do I want to use inspiration from a specific part of the world?

  3. Do I have any leftover ingredients that I can use?

  4. How prominent do I want each of the five flavors to be in my dish?

    1. bitter, salty, umami, sweet, sour/acidic

  5. Which textures do I want to experience as I’m eating this dish?

    1. crunchy, juicy, tender, chewy, creamy

  6. Do I need to finish the dish with a sauce or a garnish to add any flavors/textures that I’m missing?

  7. Will this meal have leftovers? If there are leftover ingredients, how can I use them in an upcoming meal?
