Chatter and Dish

How has working in the industry affected how you prepare food for loved ones on special holidays?

I think I enjoy preparing holiday food that much more when I make it for loved ones. I always love the excitement of working industry holidays and the creativity behind developing new ideas to serve to guests. But it is extra special to make my classic home dishes for my immediate family.

I find more joy cooking for my family for the holidays. Sometimes our house can get a little stressful with being frantically made last minute. Helping prep ahead of time and being able to jump in wherever extra help is needed makes everything go more smoothly.

Does your family request specific dishes from you for special occasions?

Full Thanksgiving Dinner (Turkey, gravy, sweet potato casserole, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and mashed potatoes) and Beef Wellington for Christmas.

Random desserts, whatever they are in the mood for.

Usually it’s specific for birthdays but I try to make a variety of desserts for holidays so everyone can find something they like!
